In the Overview, you can find some information about what is currently happening on the selected colony and in your account.

At the Top, you can see an overview of the resources produced per hour (the number in brackets) and stored. You can also have a look at storage and shelter sizes and if you already built defense structures or shipyards, you can see how many there are and how many of them are already occupied. It is important to note that all information seen is just about the current colony, other planets you might have colonized are not considered. This first section can also be seen in various other menus (e.g. economy). There is a tutorial about this section that you can reach by clicking on help (under the logout button) and then looking for the sep-by-step-tutorial about resources.

If there are any new messages you have not read yet, there will be a link to the message center next. Also, global messages will be displayed here on the overview, sometimes asking you to vote for icewars or informing you of important updates or news. You can hide these messages, if you don't want to see the message anymore. In the Settings, you can display the last global message again later. Finally, sometimes there might be funny little events, where you can win or lose some resources, displayed here.

The next part is the Planet information, there you can see mostly self-explaining informations, applicable again to the current colony. If you click on the colony name, you will reach the colony and base view, where you can assign names to all your planets. You can also assign colors in rgb format which the colony name will be displayed in. The fleet scanner range is the time you see an incoming fleet before it arrives at your planet. By default, it is 1:00 hour on your main planet and 30 minutes on your colonies, this might be modified by nebulas or the presence of additional fleet scanners on your planet.

The next block is the construct block, with informations about all your planets. You can see which buildings are constructed and which buildings are in the construction queues. It will also be noted if there is a planet where nothing gets built at all. In the Settings - General menu, there are several possibilities to customize this block.

After this, there might be blocks with fleet informations (if any fleets can be seen), first all your on fleets currently flying around somewhere, then friendly foreign fleets arriving on any of your planets and at last, unfriendly fleets attacking any of your planets. You will only see friendly fleets if you have either a small communication center or enough fleet scanners, unfriendly fleets can only be seen within fleet scanner range. If any attacking fleets are seen, there will also be a note in the resources block at the top of the page, right above the credits information.

At last, there might be a block with the shipyard status, where you can see what ships are constructed in the shipyards of all your planets. However, per default this block is not displayed, if you want to see it, you have to activate it in the options - General menu.

Finally, it should be noted that you can rearrange most of the blocks on your starting page, except for the recources block, messages and global messages. You can do that in the Settings - Skins and appearance menu.
